Ordering
How far in advance do I need to order?
Every cake is made fresh on the day of your delivery. We ask for at least 24 hours' notice. Placing your order the night before is always the safer choice, especially during weekends and holidays.
Will I receive an order confirmation?
Yes. Once your order is placed, a confirmation email is sent with your selected date, time window, and order details. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive within a few minutes.
Delivery
Which areas do you deliver to?
We deliver across a wide area including Toronto, Scarborough, North York, Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Aurora, Newmarket, King City, Mississauga, Oakville, Etobicoke, York, Brampton, Stouffville, Hamilton, Burlington, Waterloo, Kitchener, and Guelph. Delivery schedules and availability vary by zone — enter your address at checkout to confirm your delivery window.
How will I know when my order is on the way?

Please ensure the contact name and phone number on your order belong to the person receiving the cake. When your order is dispatched, you'll receive a tracking link by email or SMS. The driver will call you when approaching and again upon arrival — please keep your phone reachable.

Drivers are unable to bring cakes upstairs. If you cannot be reached, the cake will be left in the lobby or at your front door (for houses and townhouses), and a photo will be sent to you. Please refrigerate it as soon as possible.

We are not responsible for any damage, loss, or deterioration that occurs after the cake has been delivered and photographed — including theft, prolonged outdoor exposure, weather, or wildlife.

If your lobby does not permit unattended items and the driver cannot reach you, the driver will proceed to the next stop. You will need to contact the driver directly to arrange redelivery. A redelivery fee will apply.

Can I change the delivery address after ordering?
Yes, provided the request is made at least 24 hours before your scheduled delivery. Email order@shucake.ca with your order number and the updated address.
Changes & Cancellations
Can I cancel my order?

Cancellation requests must be submitted at least 48 hours before your scheduled pickup or delivery. Cancellations made within this window will receive full store credit valid for 12 months.

Cancellations requested within 48 hours of your scheduled time are not eligible for store credit, as preparation will already be underway. All sales are final once confirmed.

To cancel, email order@shucake.ca with your order number.

Can I change my order after it's placed?
Changes to flavour, size, or scheduled date must be requested at least 24 hours in advance and are subject to availability. We cannot guarantee changes can be accommodated within this window. Email order@shucake.ca with your order number as early as possible.
My cake arrived damaged or incorrect — what do I do?

Please inspect your cake immediately upon receipt. If it appears damaged or incorrect, contact us at order@shucake.ca within 2 hours of receiving it, with clear photos attached.

Claims submitted after this window cannot be accepted due to the perishable nature of our products. If your claim is accepted, we'll offer a replacement, store credit, or partial refund at our discretion.

Note: minor variations in colour, decoration, or finish are natural characteristics of handcrafted fresh cream cakes and are not considered defects.

Custom Cakes
How do I order a custom or wedding cake?
Custom orders begin with a consultation. Use the Book a Consultation form on our website — we'll discuss design, flavour, size, and timeline. Wedding cakes should be booked at least 4–6 weeks in advance; slots are limited.
Can I try the flavours before committing?
Yes. We offer a Wedding Tasting Box available for purchase — a curated selection of our cake flavours so you can taste before you decide. Visit the Wedding page to order yours.
Freshness & Storage
How long does the cake stay fresh?
All cakes are best enjoyed within 7 hours of delivery. They can be kept refrigerated for up to 24 hours, though flavour and texture are at their peak when fresh.
Do your cakes contain any allergens?
Most cakes contain dairy, eggs, and gluten. Specific allergen information is listed on each product page. If you have a severe allergy, please contact us before ordering — our kitchen handles multiple ingredients and cannot guarantee full allergen separation.
